Summer School Cruise Management Course

The goal of the CMC

This project is aimed to improve the qualifications of students participating in the Summer School“Cruise Management Course” and make the area of short cruising in the Baltic Sea more attractive.

Johanna is a European project involving partners from Germany (Rostock, Wismar, Stralsund, and Sassnitz), Sweden (Karlskrona), and Lithuania (Klaipeda), as well as the Media Dizajn association from Szczecin, and the Gdynia Maritime University.

As a project partner, the Gdynia Maritime University is responsible for running the Summer School. During the course, the students willstudy issues related to the Cruise Management sector, e.g.:

  • Tourism Destination Management;
  • Cruise Industry;
  • Cruise Customer Services;
  • Cruise Operations Management and Port Authorities.

Rules of payment

The Summer School Course is openedand free of charge to students of the second-cycle studies (M. Sc.) and the last year of the first-cycle studies (both full-time and part-time students), majors inthe broadly understood maritime economy. The offer is also addressed to students with disabilities. Students get ECTS points during the course and the CMC certificates.

Summer School participants are expected to have a sufficient command of English to be active during the classes.

The summer school will take place from the13th till the 17th of September, 2021 in Gdynia (Poland).

The deadline for the registration is the 3th of September 2021.

Do not hesitate, the number of places is limited.

Accommodation 

Students are obliged to cover only the costs of accommodation (we offer vacancies at our students’ dormitories for about 40 Euro per night) and costs of travelling to Gdynia and back.

Our students’ dormitories are located in the attractive surrounding just close to the sandy beach. There is a limited number of single- rooms and much more double-rooms with bathrooms for rent.

To make a reservation you have to send an e-mail: biuro@malyzagiel.pl, please use the name code: JOHANNA. The payment for the reservation of a room (50% of total amount) has to be paid before your arrival.

It is possible to check in on the 12th of September, 2021 and check out on the 18thof September, 2021. Dorm day starts at 02.00 p.m. and finishes at 10.00 a.m.

Catering facilities

We provide full board for all participant during the CMC.

Social programme

We have planned  an attractive social program for all CMC participants (visiting interesting places: for example: Ships – Dar Pomorza, Błyskawica, Museums). The detailed program will be delivered soon.

The weather in the mid of September is still beautiful and the school is located in touristic part of Gdynia close to marina bay.
