During the year 2020, a multidisciplinary team of practitioners, academics and experts collaborated within the JOHANNA project in order to examine the current situation of cruise guide training in the South Baltic area. These efforts resulted in the most recent publication: “State of play report: Professional cruise guide training” – we kindly invite you to read it!
This report provides x insights about the characteristics of tour guiding education in six partner destinations in Germany, Poland, Sweden and Lithuania, and discusses learnings from two successful cruise destinations outside the South Baltic area. In the same way, it explores the skills, competencies and requirements for being a tour guide in the region, from the perspective of experienced tour guides and professionals in the field.
